Terms of Service

These Terms apply when you use the MateFate app ("MateFate", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using MateFate, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use MateFate.

1. Who can use MateFate

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• You must not have been banned from MateFate before, and you must be allowed to use the app under the laws that apply to you.
• You may have only one account, and it is for your personal, non-commercial use.

2. Your account

Give accurate information about yourself, keep your login details secure, and tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

3. Community rules

MateFate is for real people looking to meet others with respect. You must not:

• Harass, threaten, bully or intimidate anyone, or keep contacting someone who has not replied or has blocked you.
• Post or send sexually explicit content, nudity, violence, hate speech or content that promotes discrimination.
• Post anything involving minors in a sexual way. We report child sexual exploitation to the authorities (see our Safety Standards).
• Impersonate anyone, use someone else's photos, or misrepresent your age or identity.
• Scam, solicit money, advertise, promote commercial services or send spam.
• Share anyone else's private information without their permission.
• Do anything illegal, or try to interfere with, reverse-engineer or misuse the service.

Photos, moments and comments appear as soon as you post them; our team and automated checks review them afterwards. You can report or block anyone from their profile or from a conversation, and report moments and comments. We may hide or remove content and suspend or ban accounts that break these rules.

4. Your content

You own the content you add to MateFate, such as your photos, profile text and messages. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and share that content only as needed to run MateFate (for example, to show your profile to people nearby and deliver your messages). This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content kept as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to share what you post.

5. MateFate Pro subscriptions

• MateFate Pro is an optional paid subscription that unlocks extra features, such as saying hi to as many people as you like. The features and price are shown in the app before you buy.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app or your MateFate account does not cancel it.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies.
• If you have a subscription on another device or account, use "Restore purchases" in the app.

If you downloaded MateFate from the Apple App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies. Apple is not responsible for MateFate or its content.

6. Meeting people safely

We do not run background checks on users and we cannot guarantee anyone's identity or intentions. Be careful when sharing personal information. If you decide to meet someone, meet in a public place and tell a friend where you are going. You are responsible for your interactions with other users.

7. Ending your use of MateFate

You can stop using MateFate and delete your account at any time in the app under Profile → Delete account. We may suspend or end your account if you break these Terms, if required by law, or to protect other users. If we end your account for breaking these Terms, you are not entitled to a refund of any subscription.

8. Disclaimers

MateFate is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties about the service, including that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that you will meet anyone. We may change, suspend or stop any part of the service.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for the conduct of other users. Our total liability for any claim relating to MateFate is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under the laws of your country.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. When we make significant changes, we will tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using MateFate after that, you accept the updated Terms.
