Safety Standards
Last Updated: November 2, 2026
Our commitment
MateFate is only for adults, and we have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE).
Any content or behaviour that sexualises, exploits or endangers children is prohibited, and we act on
it as soon as we become aware of it.
How we prevent harm
- Adults only: everyone must enter their date of birth when they sign up, and
people under 18 cannot create a profile.
- Photo review: our moderators review every new profile photo before other users
can see it.
- Limited contact: you can send one message to someone new and cannot send more
until they reply.
- Report and block: every profile and conversation has a report option. Reports
include the recent messages of the conversation so moderators can see what happened, and
reporting also blocks the person.
- Enforcement: moderators review reports and suspend accounts that break our
Terms of Service. Suspended users are signed out of all their
devices.
How to report
- In the app: open the person's profile or your conversation with them, tap the menu (⋮) and choose
Report.
- By email: [email protected]. Please include the
person's nickname and what happened.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
What we do about CSAE
- Remove the content and suspend the accounts involved.
- Preserve the relevant information for law enforcement.
- Report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the relevant
authorities.
- Cooperate with law enforcement investigations.
